Welcome to the Communications Department

The task of the communications department is to help the system achieve the mission of "Destination Graduation for every child" through fostering stronger relationships with staff, students, parents and the community. The system seeks to accomplish this by effectively communicating the mission of Floyd County Schools to those we serve while taking the time to listen to their wishes, dreams and concerns. Effective communication is evident when a sharing of ideas through talking and listening is taking place.

The system seeks to share the accomplishments of our students, staff and community through printed materials, system and school-level websites, social media, email communication, video productions and local media outlets.

Destination Grad

Local School Governance Teams, a teacher advisory group, student advisory groups, surveys, small group discussions and a variety of other listening methods of collecting the thoughts of those we serve help the school system to better understand the education goals of our community.
